What we treat

Why patients choose us

Assessment first. Always.

A mole is looked at before it is touched. If removal is not the right answer, we will tell you that.

  • Nurse practitioner–led

Your assessment and your procedure are carried out by a nurse practitioner registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

  • Assessed before removal

Every lesion is examined and the approach chosen to suit it, rather than applying the same technique to everything.

  • Surgical and laser options

Having both available means the method is chosen for the lesion and for how the site will heal, not for what is in the room.

  • Most of it in one visit

Many lesions can be assessed and removed at the same appointment, under local anaesthetic, without a hospital referral.

  • Private and unhurried

A private treatment room and appointment times long enough to ask the question you came in with.

  • In South London

On Southdale Road East with parking at the door — no drive across the city and no waiting list to join.

Common questions

Still unsure? Call the clinic and ask.

Do I need a referral?

No. South London Mole Clinic is a private clinic and you can book an assessment directly.

Is mole removal covered by OHIP?

Removal for cosmetic reasons is not covered. Where there is a medical concern, coverage depends on the individual circumstances — ask at your consultation and we will be straight with you about the cost before anything is booked.

Will it leave a scar?

Any removal leaves a mark of some kind. How noticeable it ends up depends on the lesion, its location, the technique used and how you heal. We will tell you what to expect for your particular lesion before you decide.

Does it hurt?

Procedures are carried out under local anaesthetic, so you should feel pressure rather than pain. The anaesthetic itself stings briefly as it goes in.

Can it be removed the same day?

Often, yes. Many lesions can be assessed and removed at the same appointment. Some need a separate visit, and we will say so at the consultation.

What should I bring?

Your health card, a list of any medications you take, and anything you have noticed about the lesion — when it changed, and how. Photographs on your phone are genuinely useful.
